Past Events
Film Fanatic Movie Nights launched with a celebratory movie party at Gallery Art Bar on December 18, 2025. The inaugural event drew more than 50 attendees, who gathered to experience Tarsem Singh’s THE FALL (2006) projected on the big screen.
The film was presented by club member Paul Young, who led a post-screening talk-back and Q&A alongside Nat Dykeman. Guests were also introduced to the club’s advisory board, and enjoyed a buffet featuring an international selection of hors d’oeuvres.
During the evening, attendees were invited to participate in Survey #1, featuring 20 films curated by the programming committee. Audience members voted on the titles they’re most excited to see in future screenings—helping shape the direction of the series.
Stay tuned for updates as we announce the 2026 lineup and continue building a community-driven home for adventurous cinema.

About the film
A breathtaking work of visual art, The Fall is a cult masterpiece that weaves an epic tale of imagination, loss, and redemption through some of the most stunning imagery ever captured on film. Every frame looks like a painting — soaring deserts, dreamlike temples, surreal costumes, and impossible vistas unfold in a cinematic symphony of color and light. Shot over four years in more than 20 countries, this immersive, emotional, and utterly unforgettable film is best experienced on the big screen, surrounded by fellow film fanatics in a communal setting. Don’t miss this one-night-only screening at the Gallery Art Bar (download poster).
About the presenter
"My name is Paul Young and I'm a retired graphic design professor. I have seen The Fall four times, but never on the big screen, so I'm really looking forward to this screening. Considered lost for many years, this unique hard-to-find film was recently restored, and when Mubi offered it for streaming, I immediately became a member. As a graphic designer, I love visual movies and The Fall really delivers in this department. But beyond its visual splendor lies an emotional core that hits deeply: a wounded stuntman spinning a fantastical story for a young girl, blurring the line between truth and myth. And this is where the film excels and goes where only cinema can go — deep into your soul where visuals, sound, and ideas merge into a timeless message that you won't soon forget. I look forward to introducing one of my favorite films and leading a discussion after the screening."
