The Coen brothers make films across a range of styles, but The Man Who Wasn't There is their only black and white film. The look is stunning, and in combination with a voiceover, gives the film a noirish feel. Performances are amazing from both the Coen regulars and others — James Gandolfini in particular stands out, during the time when The Sopranos was just taking off.
This Coen Brothers film is one of those special movies that is meant to be shared on the big screen — and it is my pleasure to pluck this more obscure choice and share it with you.
